Harvey Alpha Series Table Saws · Model Information
Differences Between Model Numbers — (P) / (PG) / TiN / (G) / PRO
Overview

Harvey Alpha Series table saws use suffix designations to indicate differences in table coating, fence system, and included accessories. This article explains what each designation means so you can identify your model and understand what's included.

Note — Master Rip Fence System

The Master Rip Fence System has been discontinued and replaced with the Big Eye Fence System on all current models being sold.

Model Suffix Designations
No Letter Suffix — e.g. HW110S-36 TiN Coated
TiN (Titanium Nitride) coated cast iron table and extensions
Master Rip Fence System included (discontinued — replaced by Big Eye on current stock)
40T General Purpose saw blade included
(P) Designation — e.g. HW110S-36P Uncoated
Uncoated plain cast iron table and extensions
Otherwise mostly identical to the no-suffix TiN model in the same rip capacity
(G) Designation — e.g. HW110S-36G TiN + Big Eye
TiN coated cast iron table and extensions
Big Eye Fence System included
BG-52 Leitz Destroyer blade included
(PG) Designation — e.g. HW110S-36PG Uncoated + Big Eye

Table Surface Coating Details
★ Nickel Coating — PRO Models
Autocatalytic mid-phosphorus plating process — significantly enhanced wear resistance and rust prevention
Smoother, brighter finish — reduces friction and improves the overall working experience
Particularly effective in humid environments or when working with green wood
Hardness of 500HV–700HV — friction tests with wooden blocks confirmed the nickel layer effectively protects the table surface
TiN (Titanium Nitride) Coating — No-Suffix & (G) Models
Benefits
Helps prevent rust formation and reduces table surface friction
Aesthetically pleasing gold tone color — distinct from the gray of plain cast iron
Care Considerations
PVD coating is 3–5 microns thick — avoid gouging or scratching to maintain the coating
The coating fills cast iron pores — use WD-40 or Carbon Method for additional rust prevention rather than wax products, which tend not to adhere as well
Plain Cast Iron — (P) and (PG) Models
More susceptible to flash surface rust, especially in environments without dehumidification or climate control
Requires more frequent maintenance — cleaning, waxing, or applying Carbon Method or similar products to prevent surface rust and maintain condition
Wax products adhere well to uncoated cast iron surfaces — unlike TiN coated tables
Summary
Apart from the table coatings and included accessories, models without a suffix and (P) models are mostly identical in functionality when comparing the same rip capacity.
PRO models represent the most premium configuration — Nickel coating, Big Eye Fence System, MG-36Pro, and BG-52 Leitz Destroyer blade.
