Using the M-1500Pro with Band Saws

The Spider Series M-1500Pro Mobile Base is compatible with band saws when properly configured. Follow the guidelines below based on your preferred pedal orientation and your saw's lower cabinet door clearance.

Important Safety Notice
+
Always remove the machine from the mobile base before making any modifications such as installing shortened couplers or building a platform.
+
Ensure the machine is powered off and unplugged when installing it onto the mobile base or moving the base.
+
Use caution when lifting heavy machinery. Seek assistance or use lifting equipment if necessary.
HW615 & C14 Only — A-15 requires Option 2
Option 1 — Standard Orientation with Shortened Couplers

Position the bandsaw so the lower cabinet door faces the side opposite the foot pedal — the side with no coupler. Install Long Side Rails (Part #55) on the sides where the footer is longer, and Short Side Rails (Part #56) where the footer is shorter.

Note: Many band saws have a narrow cabinet width. Standard couplers may create a gap between the saw and frame. Shortened couplers allow the base to be adjusted to a narrower width for a secure fit. Contact our support team to request shortened couplers — available free of charge for customers who purchased both their saw and M-1500Pro from Harvey. Otherwise, contact us for a parts quote.
Safety reminder: Always install shortened couplers before placing the machine on the base. If adjustments are needed, remove the machine first.
All Models — A-15, HW615, C14
Option 2 — Raised Platform Method

Build a multi-ply plywood platform that the band saw can be securely bolted to. The platform raises the cabinet high enough so the lower door clears the couplers or pedal assembly on any side, giving full flexibility in base orientation.

Option 2 — Raised Platform on M-1500Pro Fig. 1
Option 2 — Multi-ply plywood platform sitting on M-1500Pro mobile base
Platform requirements: Must be level, sturdy, and capable of supporting the full weight of the machine. Securely bolt the band saw to the platform before use.
Which Option Should I Choose?
Option 1 — Shortened Couplers
Best if you prefer no platform and are comfortable with a fixed pedal orientation. HW615 and C14 only.
Option 2 — Raised Platform
Best for all models including A-15, and gives full flexibility in pedal/coupler orientation.
If you prefer to avoid a platform and want more pedal orientation flexibility, the M-1500 (non-Pro) may be a better fit — it has no couplers, eliminating door clearance concerns for C14 and HW615 models.
