Custom Dust Port Zero Clearance Insert

These band saws include a slot located below the upper dust port that can be used to support a custom zero-clearance insert plate. An insert can be made from wood, MDF, or other suitable material by cutting a piece to fit the slot dimensions below and then adding a 45-degree blade cutout to allow the blade to pass through.

⚠ Band Saw Safety

Turn the band saw OFF and unplug it whenever working inside the cabinet, performing maintenance, removing or reinstalling the blade, or installing and removing the zero-clearance insert.

Wear safety glasses at all times when operating the band saw or cutting the insert material.

Wear a dust mask (N95 or better) when cutting wood — and especially when cutting MDF or composite materials, which produce particularly fine and harmful dust particles.

When cutting the insert to size on a table saw or band saw, use a fence and push stick — do not freehand cut small pieces near the blade.

Verify the insert is fully and securely seated in the slot before operating the band saw. A loose or improperly fitted insert can shift during operation and interfere with the blade.
