The HP-8v2 is not currently compatible with the Chopstick Master Jigs (CSMv1 and CSMv2).

There are two separate reasons for this incompatibility, both related to differences in depth skid design between the HP-8v2 and the original Chopstick Master HP-8 plane.

Reason 1

Metal vs. Plastic Depth Skids

The depth skids on the HP-8v2 are manufactured from metal, which would cause wear and damage to the Chopstick Master jig surface over time. By contrast, the depth skids supplied with the original Chopstick Master HP-8 are constructed from plastic specifically to prevent this type of wear.

Reason 2

Shorter Depth Skids & Closer Mounting Points

The updated ergonomic design of the HP-8v2 results in shorter depth skids. This modification requires the skid mounting points to be positioned closer together on the plane body, making it physically impossible to fit the plastic depth skids from the original Chopstick Master HP-8 onto the HP-8v2.

In Summary

The HP-8v2's metal depth skids would damage the Chopstick Master jig surface.

The HP-8v2's shorter skids and closer mounting points make it impossible to fit the original CSM plastic skids.

To use the Chopstick Master jigs, the original Chopstick Master HP-8 plane with its plastic depth skids is required.
