Here are the measurements of the ST-1500 mounted to the main table of a table saw including the distance from the main table to the end of the fence with the fence in the collapsed position, expanded position, as well as the distances from front to back in the max travel positions past the saw's front and rear rails which will give you a much better idea of the total space needed to operate the ST-1500 in addition to the saw dimensions.
For 36" Models:
The 36" saw models are 70-3/4" long before being modified to add the ST-1500 to the main table. The modification involves removing the left wing and trimming the front guide tube flush with the main table to allow the ST-1500 to mount to it. The left wings are 7-9/32" and once the left wing is removed to mount the sliding table onto the saw, the overall length of the saw before mounting the sliding table becomes 63-15/32".
For 52" Models:
The 52" saw models are 85" long before being modified to add the ST-1500 to the main table. Once the left wing is removed to mount the sliding table onto the saw, the overall length of the saw before mounting the sliding table becomes ~77-23/32".
Additional space needed when mounting the ST-1500 to the main table:
- Distance from the main table to the end of the ST-1500 fence when in the collapsed position: ~31-3/4"
- Distance from the main table to the end of the ST-1500 fence when in the expanded position: ~46-3/4"
- Distance from the front guide tube to the front end of the table(where the operator stands) in the most expanded position: ~40-1/2"
- Distance from the rear rail to the back end of the ST-1500 table in the most expanded position: ~29-3/4"
Total width dimensions of 36" and 52" models with the ST-1500 mounted to the main table:
For 36" models, the width with the ST-1500 mounted onto the main table is about ~95-7/32" with the ST-1500 fence in the collapsed position and ~110-7/32" in the expanded position.
For 52" models, the width with the ST-1500 mounted onto the main table is about ~109-15/32" with the ST-1500 fence in the collapsed position and ~124-15/32" in the expanded position.
