Dust Bin Leak Detection & Adjustments
Applicable Model
Gyro Air G-700 Dust Processor

The following instructions will help you detect and troubleshoot leaks primarily related to the dust bin seals on your G-700.

Safety Precautions — Dust Hazard
+
Power off the machine before removing the dust bin, filters, or any dust box covers. Removing these components while the unit is running can cause accumulated dust to blow out freely, creating a serious inhalation hazard.
+
Always wear a properly fitted dust mask (N95 or better) when handling the dust bin, filters, or any components that may have accumulated fine dust particles.
+
Wear safety glasses to protect your eyes from dust particles when removing or inspecting the bin, filters, or internal components.
+
Perform this procedure in a well-ventilated area or outdoors to avoid re-circulating fine dust into your workspace.

Leak Detection Procedure
1
Inspect the Dust Bin Gasket

Remove the bin from the dust collector and check the rubber gasket to ensure it is in good working condition and seated properly on the bin.

Step 1 — Bin Gasket InspectionFig. 1

2
Paper Test — Front of Bin

Reinstall the bin. Place a sheet of paper on top of the edge of the bin and latch it securely. With the bin secured, try to pull the sheet of paper to check the gap between the bin and the top of the machine.

!
Paper slides out — the latch needs adjustment. Proceed to Step 3.
Paper is held firmly — front seal is good. Skip to Step 4.
Check each side of the bin to ensure the bin is sealed on both sides properly.

3
Adjust the Front Latch

Using a Metric #10 wrench or pliers, loosen and remove the two (2) lock nuts at the bottom of the latch. Adjust the four (4) hex nuts until the latch secures the bin tightly in place. Repeat Step 2 to verify the adjustment.

Once correctly adjusted, ensure all four (4) hex nuts are secured, then reinstall the two (2) lock nuts and tighten them against the hex nuts to prevent loosening over time.
4
Remove the Back Panel

To check the back side of the bin for leakage, remove the back panel of the dust collector using a Metric #4 hex wrench to remove the 4 indicated screws.

Step 4 — Back Panel Screw LocationsFig. 3

5
Prop the Front Door Panel

Prop the front door panel slightly upward so the bin slides partially outward and rests on the hinge section of the panel. This provides easier access when performing the paper test on the back side of the bin.

6
Paper Test — Back of Bin

From the back of the dust collector, place a sheet of paper along the edge of the bin. If needed, fold the sheet in half to prevent it from falling. Push the bin back into the locking position and secure the front latch.

Step 6 — Paper Test (Back)Fig. 4

7
Check the Back Seal

Pull the sheet of paper to check the back seal. Check both corners of the bin.

!
Paper slides out — the back rollers need adjustment. Proceed to Step 8.
Paper is held firmly — back seal is good. Skip to Step 9.
8
Adjust the Back Rollers

Remove the bin to allow room to work. Using a Metric #4 hex wrench, slightly loosen the bolt securing each roller to the bin. The roller shaft is eccentric (offset) — rotate the roller to raise or lower it to achieve the correct height. Tighten the bolt, slide the bin back in, and repeat Steps 6 and 7 to verify.

After all adjustments are complete, ensure the roller bolts are fully secured before sliding the bin back and latching it in place.

Final Inspection & Reassembly

Run the machine and visually inspect for any signs of dust leakage. If none are found, reassemble the back panel using the four (4) screws and a Metric #4 hex wrench.

Once the back panel is secured and the bin is properly latched, your G-700 is ready for use.
