Gyro Air G-700: Uneven Dust Separation Adjustment

If you're noticing symptoms of uneven dust separation, such as:

  • The filter on one side is filling with dust and clogging but the other side shows no signs of clogging.
  • The bins are filling up unevenly i.e. the dust is filling up much higher in the back or front of the bin rather than evenly.
  • The dust bin full alarm is going off prematurely due to the dust accumulation in the bins unevenly sloping causing a high spot.

It may be due to the configuration and orientation of the internal hoses relative to the separators. Here is a helpful video that provides a detailed walkthrough for diagnosing and rectifying this issue. You can view it via the link provided below.

Diagnosing and Troubleshooting Uneven Dust Collection

After watching the video, you may find that adjusting the position of the adjust ring (part #210) could resolve the issue. This adjustment allows you to direct the airflow more effectively towards either the front or the back separators. For example, if the dust is accumulating too quickly in the front separator/filter, adjust the bracket to angle the airflow towards the rear separator. This change aims to balance the airflow distribution and ensure that both separators fill evenly, thus preventing the majority of particles from bypassing one separator and leading to uneven dust collection.
