Gyro Air G-700Pro: VFD Commissioning — Setup & Autotuning
Created by Gabriel Izzo, Modified on Fri, 12 Jun at 11:10 AM by Gabriel Izzo
This guide covers the initial commissioning procedure for the INVT Goodrive28 Series VFD as used in the Harvey Gyro Air G-700 Pro. It covers keypad orientation, menu navigation, motor parameter setup, autotuning, and setting up the running command and speed control modes. All motor and operating parameters are listed in the Full Parameter Reference section at the bottom of this article.
| Indicator | Status | Description |
|---|---|---|
| RUN/TUNE | ●ON | VFD is running. |
| ◑Blink | VFD is in parameter autotuning. | |
| ●Off | VFD is stopped. | |
| FWD/REV | ●ON | VFD runs reversely. |
| ●Off | VFD runs forward. | |
| LOCAL/REMOT | ●ON | Communication is the command channel. |
| ◑Blink | Terminal is the command channel. | |
| ●Off | Keypad is the command channel. | |
| All three ON | ●●●Fault code | VFD is in fault state. |
| All three blinking | ◑◑◑Alarm | VFD is in alarm state. |
| Key | Function |
|---|---|
| PRG/JOG | Enter/exit Level-1 menu. Hold ≥1s to jog (P07.02 default). |
| ENT/SHIFT | Enter next menu level or save value at Level-3. Hold ≥1s to shift edit digit right. |
| ▲ / ▼ | Scroll groups/codes or increase/decrease digit value. |
| RUN | Run VFD or start autotuning (keypad mode). |
| STOP/RST | Stop running or autotuning. Reset in fault/alarm state (P07.04 specifies validity). |
| Potentiometer (AI3) | Local LED keypad potentiometer — analog input AI3. |
| Action | What happens |
|---|---|
| Press PRG/JOG | Enter Level-1 (groups). Press again to return to previous level without saving. |
| Press ▲ / ▼ | Scroll groups (L1), codes (L2), or change a digit value (L3). |
| Press ENT/SHIFT | Descend to next level, or save value at Level-3 and return to Level-2. |
| Hold ENT/SHIFT ≥1s | At Level-3: shift blinking edit cursor one digit right (circular). |
Read-only: If no digit blinks at Level-3, the parameter is read-only or cannot be modified while running — stop the VFD first.
Locked: If P00.18 = 3, nothing blinks and nothing can be modified. Restore defaults (P00.18 = 1) to unlock.
Ensure all wiring is correctly connected before powering on. Verify input power, motor output, ground, and any control terminals.
Set P00.18 = 1 to restore all parameters to factory defaults before entering any values.
Set P02.00 = 1 for permanent magnet synchronous motor (SM).
Enter all parameters from the Full Parameter Reference table at the bottom of this article. Set Group P00 operating parameters and Group P02 motor parameters before proceeding.
Press and hold PRG/JOG to jog the motor and verify rotation direction.
Set P00.15 = 2, then press RUN. The VFD measures the motor's electrical characteristics without spinning the shaft. The RUN/TUNE indicator blinks during autotuning and turns off when complete.
After autotuning is complete, change P00.01 from 0 (Keypad) to 2 (Communication) for normal Gyro Air operation.
Enter all remaining parameters from the Full Parameter Reference — Groups P01, P05, P06, P11, and P14.
