Alpha HW615/Ambassador C14 Band Saws: Guide and Thrust Bearing Information

Created by Gabriel Izzo, Modified on Thu, 4 Apr at 11:26 AM by Gabriel Izzo

The HW615 band saw comes with two types of bearings: the 689RS bearing and the 608RS bearing. These bearings are both types of deep groove ball bearings, which are commonly used in machinery to support rotating shafts and reduce friction between moving parts.

The 689RS bearing is a small bearing with dimensions of 9mm x 17mm x 5mm. It has a rubber seal on one side to help keep dirt and debris out and grease inside. This type of bearing is typically used in lighter duty applications where lower load capacity is required.

The 608RS bearing is slightly larger than the 689RS bearing, with dimensions of 8mm x 22mm x 7mm. It also has a rubber seal on one side to protect against contamination. This type of bearing is more commonly used in heavier duty applications where greater load capacity is required.

The bearing information for the inner and outer diameters of the guide and thrust bearings are:

Guide Bearing 689RS: ID:9mm OD:17mm W:5mm
Thrust Bearing 608RS: ID:8mm OD: 22mm W:7mm
